Summary:
A leading Northern California Rice Mill is looking to add a Sales Associate to its team. The Sales Associate will be responsible for selling finished, packaged rice to domestic and foreign markets. In addition, this position could also sell co-products, including bran, hulls, second heads, and Brewers. Focus will be on contacting prospective purchasers and providing samples of the grades and varieties of rice offered for sale. It states the selling price, arranges sales and follows up on orders. Coordinates to ensure documentation is complete and accurate.

Education and/or Experience:
A bachelor’s degree is preferred. Four to seven years of relevant sales experience desired. Bi-lingual preferred.
Compensation:
This position offers a competitive salary ($80-110k) depending on experience and qualifications. Bonus potential. In addition: Medical, Dental, Vision insurance. Paid vacation, sick, and holiday pay. Retirement contribution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Seeks business opportunities by identifying prospective customers, evaluating their position in the industry, and researching and analyzing sales potential.
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers by visiting the customer, making direct contact, and communicating digitally.
- Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information.
- Provides customers with quotations, negotiates the terms of an agreement, and closes sales.
- Gathers market and customer information and provides feedback on buying trends and market price to the Director of Sales and CEO.
- Represent the organization at trade exhibitions, events, and demonstrations.
- Identifies new markets and business opportunities.
- Constructively and professionally handles customer complaints.
- Provides good negotiating skills to secure sales that represent profitable business to the company.
- Tracks customer packaging inventories and communicates with customers when additional inventory is needed based on remaining inventories and projected sales.
- Collaborates with the Director of Sales on customer progress/sales and strategy for future sales.
- Manage company social media accounts and platforms.
- Update the company website.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
- Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and excellent communication skills. Knowledge of structuring sales quota goals and revenue expectations. Experience in planning marketing strategies, advertising campaigns, and successful public relations efforts.
- Strong understanding of all products, labels, and competition in the marketplace.
- Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
- Work requires a willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel.
